Teachers Guide to the Internet is an introduction to the Internet for k12
teachers in FultonCounty, Georgia. Topics covered include Internet navigational
tools, teaching tools, online communication, web searching, searching for
classroom related web sites.
This
course is offered
through the Fulton County Schools Staff

- This online course awards 3 SDU credits for 30 hours of work.
- The syllabus describes each section of the course.
- Paula
will hold
office hours online at the CORAL Reef, an academic talker, and
will be available via email and telephone for additional
assistance and consultation.
Activity and Assessment
Each section of the course contains three parts:
- Activity

Each module covers an aspect of the Internet, ranging from
communication to research. Students will complete readings,
examine and compare web sites that are furnished on the course
web pages.
- Resources
- Resources are provided in each module for the student to
further explore the topic and apply the lessons learned.
Readings are linked, tools such as glossaries are included and
each section contains links to web pages that demonstrate the
module's topic.
Assignments
- Students
will compile a record of their experiences in the Link Share
page. Two entries will be made to the Link Share page for
each section of the class, including the URL of the site, a
description of the site, and how the site relates to their own
teaching.
- Students will discuss their experiences on the
Discussion Board, posting about their experiences and
responding to the experiences of others.
- The Coral Reef Talker ,
an academic talk site will be used for real time discussions.
